Job summary

Elevate Charter Schools and Booker T. Washington Academy (BTWA) are seeking a Middle School Math Teacher for the 7th/8th grade team in Hamden, CT. You will design and deliver standards-aligned math instruction, foster a growth mindset, and partner with families to support student growth.

You will contribute to a culture of excellence, equity, and high expectations, with opportunities to lead a homeroom and engage in school-wide initiatives within BTWA’s mission-driven community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Valid teaching certification, or eligibility to obtain required CT certification through reciprocity.
• 2–3 years of successful teaching experience with a demonstrated track record of strong student achievement.
• Ability to build a safe, structured classroom where scholars feel supported, known, and pushed to engage deeply.
• Reflective practice and personal accountability for student growth and learning.
• Commitment to ECS’s and BTWA’s mission and values, including excellence and educational uplift.
• Demonstrated commitment to educational equity and culturally responsive pedagogy.
• Experience differentiating instruction for diverse learners, including multilingual learners and students with IEPs.
• Belief in the potential of every scholar to learn, grow, and achieve at a high level.
