Job Details

St. Peters in Waldorf is hiring a Middle School Language Arts Teacher for the 2025-26 school year. This role reports to the Principal with a salary range of $40,000 to $50,000. Please send your resume and letter of interest to: [e-mail].

About St. Peter's

St. Peter's is a Blue Ribbon school with multiple Golden Apple Teachers, located on acres of land in Charles County. It is the only Catholic school in the county that was never racially segregated and is a Project Lead the Way STEM school, offering STEM classes to all students.

Responsibilities

• Create lesson plans aligned with Archdiocese standards.
• Use assessments to inform instruction and differentiate learning.
• Deliver instruction through various methods including direct, guided, and hands-on activities.
• Establish classroom procedures, rules, and a positive environment based on mutual respect.
• Maintain accurate grade records, communicate with parents, and hold conferences as needed.
• Foster and support Catholic beliefs, traditions, and practices, including leading prayer and planning liturgical ceremonies.
• Perform non-instructional duties such as supervising recess, lunch, and extracurricular activities.
• Participate in professional development and obtain necessary state and religious certifications within three years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Current teacher certification in Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, DC (or within three years of hire)
• Knowledge of child development and supervision
• Experience in elementary education preferred
