Colorado Academy seeks a one-year full-time Middle School Humanities teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This faculty member will join an established community of caring, experienced educators and will be responsible for planning and instructing a section of our 6th grade Core Program (combined English and Social Studies) and two sections of our 7th grade Social Studies Course: Critical Thinking.
This teacher will act as a Core Advisor, responsible for collaborating with the 6th-grade team to transition students to middle school life. Additionally, this teacher will serve as a member of the Social Studies department, participate in our student clubs program, our interim program, and perform recess and lunch duties as assigned. With an average class size of 15-16 students, this individual will promote a supportive and positive climate that develops students into strong writers and thinkers.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of classroom instruction, experience supporting a community of diverse backgrounds, and a deep respect for the intellectual and social-emotional development of middle schoolers. Experience and training in writing instruction is preferred. We encourage candidates with either an English teaching background or a Social Studies background to apply.
The Middle School program combines a strong academic curriculum with the care needed to grow students through the developmentally dynamic middle school years. Teachers in the Middle School work to support students’ growth as curious, kind, courageous, and adventurous leaders and learners. Students at CA benefit from small classes, high standards, robust arts and athletic offerings, and teachers’ intentional efforts to bring joy to daily school life. Learning at CA is not confined to the classroom, as students grow through our experiential interim program, outdoor education trips, clubs, service learning, and a plethora of field trips.
All faculty and staff at Colorado Academy are expected to carry out the CA Mission, "Creating Curious, Kind, Courageous, and Adventurous Learners and Leaders,” to support the vision of Colorado Academy, and to contribute to the life of the school outside of the classroom.
