Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in the subject area to be taught; Master’s Degree preferred.
• New York State teaching certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Proven academic achievement as student and educator.
• At least two years of teaching experience.
• Experience teaching in urban and/or low-income areas preferred.
• Commitment to LAB’s mission and excellence.
• Growth mindset and ability to work as part of a team.
• Comfort with accountability and absorbing feedback for development.
• Special education and/or ESL certifications preferred when possible.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction utilizing rigorous lessons aligned with the Common Core.
• Prepare students for high school graduation and college success.
• Differentiate instruction and use small-group learning to achieve results.
• Use formative and summative assessments to inform instruction.
• Lead advisory groups addressing social-emotional needs of scholars.
