This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday, from 8am - 4pm.

THE SCHOOL

Chiaravalle is an AMS and ISACS accredited school, rooted in the methods of Maria Montessori. We incorporate mission-appropriate best practices in education to refine curriculum, improve programming, support learners, and enhance school culture.

We respect individual learners, a caring community, and global citizenship. Montessori educators observe, personalize, and facilitate learning. Choice and self-pacing materials increase engagement and mastery of skills. Differentiated instruction and student-initiated learning are encouraged within our integrated Montessori curriculum.

Chiaravalle offers education from infancy through high school preparation. Our nurturing environment fosters independence, self-confidence, and higher-order cognitive skills.

THE POSITION

The Middle School program integrates research, educational trends, and Montessori philosophy to empower early adolescents. We follow a cycle format with four thematic cycles per year: Connections, Explorations, Identity, and Systems. The MS Head Teacher will focus on these themes as they relate to Social Studies. The cycle begins with study guides outlining the work plan for each cycle.

The Head Teacher will observe, plan, and implement the curriculum in accordance with Montessori principles. They will also adapt strategies and accommodations to support student learning throughout the cycle. The format aims to develop organizational, decision-making, and time-management skills.
