Job summary

Ysleta Independent School District is seeking a qualified School Counselor to implement and evaluate a comprehensive development guidance program across campuses. The role involves collaboration with the Guidance and Counseling department and data submission at campus and Central Office.

The position requires a Master’s degree, Texas School Counselor certification (Pre-K through 12), and teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree; Texas School Counselor certification (Pre-K through 12); two (2) years of full-time creditable teaching experience (Pre-K through 12).
• Knowledge of educational programs, demonstrated ability to work with students, parents and school personnel.
• Texas/New Mexico driver’s license, insurable by the district’s auto liability insurance carrier. Subject to district drug and alcohol testing policy and regulation.

Responsibilities

• Assist and collaborate with the Department of Guidance and Counseling in implementing the district guidance and counseling plan.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate a balanced comprehensive developmental guidance program at each campus for all students.
• Coordinate ongoing drug awareness programs and support student achievement through counseling and referrals.
