Job summary

Highlands School is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic 7th/8th grade girls volleyball coach for an exciting opportunity this season. Qualifications

  • Must be CPR/1st aid certified; school will pay for certification if needed.
  • Prior coaching experience is helpful but not required.

Job description

Are you motivated and enthusiastic about teaching and coaching? Do you enjoy mentoring eager-to-learn middle school girls? Are you passionate about helping our youth strive to be their best on and off the court? If you’d like to make a difference in our students’ lives in just eight short weeks, then this is the job for you! Highlands School is looking for a 7 th /8 th grade girls volleyball coach.

  • Serve as a positive role model to the players and parents
  • Teach skills through effectively planned practices at a level appropriate for each member of the team
  • Condition athletes appropriately for activities requiring endurance, strength, and agility
  • Responsible for all aspects of directing the team’s practice and play in games
  • Teach sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic, and responsibility to one’s team
  • Monitor players' personal conduct during games
  • Performs related duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to work well with children of various ages
  • Must be CPR/1 st aid certified - if need to be certified school will pay for certification
  • Basic knowledge of volleyball
  • Willingness to learn and follow Highlands School rules and guidelines regarding youth sports
  • Prior coaching experience helpful but not required
  • Coaches must register through DragonFly - details upon inquiry
  • Must take several online AHSAA classes, fees paid by school– details upon inquiry

Practice and Game Schedule:

  • Practice can start August 3rd
  • 4-5 practices a week – coach sets practice days and times
  • Season runs from August 20th-October 11th
  • Current match dates: August 26th and 27th, September 4th, 11th, 15th, and 23rd
