Job summary

• Adherence to Athletic Code for Coaches per the MHSAA Handbook.
• Become a member of the Michigan High School Basketball Coaches Association.
• Pass background check

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must possess knowledge of the fundamentals of basketball with the ability to teach and demonstrate to students
• Ability to follow the direction of and work with existing coaching staff to develop necessary fundamental skills for betterment of the program
• Must be able to design and implement short term and long term goals
• Design a daily and weekly practice schedule with specific goals for team and individual development
• Must be willing to work camps and team camps as needed
• Effectively communicate with players, parents, and administration
• Must model appropriate behavior, promoting at all times the social, emotional, and moral well-being of CPS student-athletes
• Must be First Aid certified prior to the start of the 2026 season
• Must be CPR certified prior to the start of the 2026 season
• Must adhere to the Athletic Code for Coaches, as stated in the MHSAA Handbook
• Become a member of the Michigan High School Basketball Coaches Association
• Pass background check

PREFERRED:

• Willing to work with players in off-season and provide help with high school basketball events
• Coaching experience, 2+ years
• Willing to aid in fundraising activities
• CAP 1 or CAP 2 trained by the start of the 2026 season
• Have or willing to obtain CDL license
