Job summary

Perkiomen Valley School District is seeking a dynamic Gifted Teacher at Middle School East in Collegeville, PA. The role delivers both push-in and pull-out services to students with diverse gifted profiles, including 2e learners, and collaborates to provide enriching experiences that support academic and social-emotional growth.

The educator will use UDL, differentiation, and strong literacy instruction to meet needs, coordinate with staff, and ensure compliance with GIEP meetings and screening

Job Description

The Perkiomen Valley School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered educator to serve as a Gifted Teacher at Middle School East, effective immediately. This position delivers both push-in and pull-out support to learners with diverse gifted profiles, inclduding students identified as twice-exceptional (2e).The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion formeeting the needs of gifted learners, foster meaningful student engagement, and collaborate with staff to provide enriching learning experiences that support students’ academic and social-emotional growth.

Certification and/or Licensure Requirements

This position requires Pennsylvania certification applicable to the Middle Level.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Demonstrated knowledge ofmiddle level learners and effective instructional practices.
• Strong background in literacy instruction, with demonstrated skill in Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and advanced differentiation strategies.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of the academic, social, and emotional characteristics and needs of gifted learners, including twice-exceptional (2e) learners.
• Ability to develop and implement differentiated enrichment opportunities aligned to student needs, including both push-in and pull-out service models.
• Knowledge of gifted screening, identification, GIEP writing, and compliance requirements, including facilitation of GIEP meetings.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, administrators, families, and support staff.
• Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage schedules and compliance documentation.
• Ability to integrate technology, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving experiences into instruction.
• Commitment to fostering a culturally responsive and student-centered learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with co‑teaching models
• Strong background in literacy instruction
• Experience with gifted cluster grouping models
• Experience wiht honors or accelerated ELA curriculum
• Experience using progress‑monitoring data to inform enrichment and service decisions

Compensation

The starting salary will be determined as outlined in the Perkiomen Valley Education Association Agreement.

Position Type: Full-time 10-month

Salary: $57,880 to $114,248 Per Year
