Job summary

Simply Ed LLC is seeking a Middle School ELA Teacher’s Assistant at Ebbets Field Middle School in Brooklyn, NY. You’ll support students as they strengthen reading, writing, and critical thinking skills in Grades 6–8.

You’ll combine push-in classroom support with small-group remediation, partnering with classroom teachers to reinforce daily instruction and foster confidence as readers and writers.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or holding a bachelor's degree in Education or English.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Willing to obtain NYC DOE PETS background check and fingerprinting.
• Comfortable working with grades 6–8 in a classroom setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide push-in classroom support during ELA instruction for grades 6–8.
• Lead small-group ELA remediation sessions.
• Collaborate with teachers to align with daily instruction.
• Offer one-on-one and small-group academic support.
• Reinforce reading, writing, vocabulary, and grammar skills.
• Monitor progress and share observations with staff.
• Attend required trainings and staff meetings.
