The Archdiocese of St. Louis Catholic Education and Formation is seeking a dedicated Middle School English-Language Arts teacher to cover a maternity leave at St. Margaret Of Scotland Catholic School.

This full-time role serves 6th, 7th, and 8th graders from November 2026 through February 2027. The ideal candidate will plan and deliver instruction, maintain a positive classroom, and collaborate with colleagues while upholding Catholic values.

Qualifications

• Experience with elementary and/or middle school classroom management.
• Comfort using Google Classroom.
• Strong organizational skills and reliability.
• Applicants should be faith-filled but do not need to be Catholic, upholding the school's Catholic values and commitment to student development.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons, or implement planned instruction from the teacher on leave.
• Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment.
• Working knowledge of standards-based learning and assessment is preferred.
• Desire to collaborate with a teacher partner in a professional learning environment.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the content area, planning, writing, and executing learning objectives.
• Ability to apply best practices in developing critical thinking skills in students.
• Ability to analyze student achievement data and utilize it to drive instruction.
