Responsibilities:
- Develops and administers curriculum aligned with LEAP's district goals.
- Creates a safe and engaging classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Designs lesson plans and instructional materials to optimize learning time.
- Assesses student progress regularly and adjusts instruction to meet individual needs, including students with special needs.
- Teaches responsible citizenship and other legal and school-specific subjects.
- Engages in ongoing professional development through seminars, workshops, or research.
- Maintains accurate records of student activities, grades, and attendance.
- Encourages parental involvement and maintains effective communication.
- Ensures student conduct aligns with school policies and standards.
- Collaborates with colleagues to evaluate and improve curriculum.
- In conjunction with the Principal and Chief Academic Officer, selects instructional resources and maintains inventory.
- Supervises students during activities outside classroom hours, including transportation.
- Administers standardized tests as per district protocols.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid NJ state teacher certification (Standard, CE, or CEAS) or eligibility for reciprocity.
- Experience working in an urban classroom setting.
- Proven experience using data-driven instruction to improve student outcomes.
