Job summary

Caledonia Community Schools Athletics Department seeks a part-time Coach for Middle School Competitive Cheer at Duncan Lake Middle School. You will guide athletes in skill development, conditioning, safety, and competitive readiness, while coordinating with the Athletic Director on schedules and events.

You will mentor assistants, monitor academic eligibility, and communicate with families to support student-athlete success throughout the season.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s in Education preferred.
Successful coaching experience at high school level or college coaching/playing experience; head coaching desirable.
Supervisory experience for staff of assistant coaches and student assistants.
CPR/First Aid certification desirable.

Responsibilities

Provide coaching for athletes, teaching sport rules, conditioning, safety, and skill development.
Assist Athletic Director with scheduling and transportation to events.
Prepare for practices/games and manage facility times.
Maintain communication with players and parents regarding team matters.
Ensure academic eligibility and monitor attendance and progress.
Attend practices and games as directed; coordinate equipment inventory and maintenance.
Stay current with coaching techniques and participate in clinics.
