The Church at LifePark in Mount Pleasant, SC seeks a Middle School Boys Student Minister to help develop evangelism and ministry programs for grades 6–8 and their families. The role requires a call to Christian ministry and the ability to relationally connect with students and shepherd their faith.

You will lead large-group teaching, coordinate small groups, recruit male volunteers, and support family discipleship while aligning with LifePark’s mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing and implementing an evangelistic plan for middle school students and families
• Support creation and operation of Sunday and midweek ministry programs, trips, camps, and events
• Connect with students through teaching, discipling, and leading weekly programming
• Identify, recruit, train, and encourage male volunteer leaders
• Coordinate resources for parent/family discipleship and transitions for rising 5th graders
• Help manage ministry budget and participate in church staff activities as needed

Job description

The Middle School Boys Student Minister is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of evangelism and middle school ministry programs for students (grades 6-8) and their families. This position ensures the mission, vision and values of The Church at LifePark is pursued through Living Life to the Full by being Biblical, Relational, Missional, and Transformational. This individual must demonstrate a call to Christian ministry with the ability to relationally connect with students while shepherding their heart and growing their faith.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assist with developing and implementing an evangelistic plan in order to build relationships and share the gospel with middle school students within LifePark and the community.
• Contribute to the creation and operation of the middle school student ministry that includes weekly ministry opportunities on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evening programming, mission trips/camps and routine special events that are well-balanced in being biblical, relational, missional and transformational .
• Connect with students by modeling everyday Christianity through teaching, discipling, and leading weekly programming. This includes teaching large groups lessons on Sunday mornings, creating small group questions for volunteers of discipleship small groups in collaboration with the Lead Middle School Minister.
• Identify, recruit, train/coach and encourage male volunteer leaders.
• Gather and share resources for parent/family support and discipleship in the home.
• Assist in the transition process for 5 th graders to middle school through the creation of a connecting event to orient them to middle school ministry.
• Create environments for middle school students that foster biblical community and spiritual growth through the creation and leading of games, ensuring rooms are properly set and ready to welcome students and technology needed to run programming is operating effectively.
• Build intentional relationships with middle school students both within the church and in their everyday environments (schools, extracurricular activities, community events, etc.).
• Create a strategic follow up plan for new and absentee male students.
• Assist in the coordination and leading of all student ministry trips.
• Help promote and maintain social media channels.
• Assist new believers with learning the foundations of the faith.
• Assist in the development of the annual middle school ministry budget.
• Function as a member of the LifePark’s ministerial staff: help serve in baptism interviews and services, hospital visits or home visits, funeral support, counseling sessions with students or families, teach or lead Bible studies as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Middle School Boys Student Minister reports to the Lead Middle School Minister.
