Tacoma Public Schools is seeking an assistant coach to work with middle school athletes, focusing on fundamental skills, safety, and team strategy. You will coordinate after-school practices and align with district policies and WIAA rules.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, at least two years of coaching experience, and current First Aid/CPR certification. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and able to work within the school district’s guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two years of experience as an assistant coach.
• First Aid Certificate and CPR card are required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age (WIAA Regulation) or have equivalent education/experience.

Responsabilités

• Supervises student athletes to promote learning through athletic participation.
• Plans and implements a sports program; sets objectives and safety protocols.
• Organizes practice sessions for 7th–8th grade teams four days a week and 6th grade two days a week.
• Manages equipment, records, and injury reporting with the athletic director.
• Explains eligibility rules and sport-specific regulations to students and parents.
• Maintains inventory and proper equipment handling; enforces safety checks weekly.
• Supports district athletic directors in achieving program objectives.
