The role partners with Reclaiming Center staff and building administrators to implement positive behavior strategies, support at-risk students, and coordinate referrals to community services, while keeping accurate records and contributing to school initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or accredited equivalency.
• Evidence of college coursework and experience in education, criminal justice, social work and/or human services.
• Minimum three years of experience with children and families in diverse/multicultural settings.
• Experience with secondary at-risk students.
• Knowledge and experience with community resources and agencies.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services Field.

Responsibilities

• Assists building administrators in implementing positive behavior strategies with students.
• Assists students in developing problem solving techniques individually or in groups.
• Assists with duties at the direction of assistant principals.
• Assists in completing referrals to community agencies.
• Maintains accurate written information of all contacts with students, parents, staff and community agencies.
• Works with school programs, students, staff and community agencies.
• Attends staff meetings and participates as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by the principal.
