Position Title: Baseball Coach
Department: Extra and Co Curricular Programs
Reports to: Principal, Athletic Director
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency required
- Prior coaching, playing, or youth mentoring experience preferred
- Must hold valid DOE fingerprinting certification (CHRC)
General Position Description
To provide leadership, fundamental instruction, and guidance to student-athletes in a safe, positive, and
supportive environment. The Baseball Coach is responsible for promoting sportsmanship, skill development,
teamwork, and healthy habits aligned with the educational values of RSU #48.
Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct structured, age-appropriate practices focusing on fundamental skills, rules, and strategies of the sport.
- Adapt coaching methods to support athletes of varying skill levels and developmental stages.
- Encourage active participation, fair play, positive attitudes, and team cohesion.
- Supervise student-athletes at all times during practices, home games, away games, and team travel.
- Ensure all equipment, athletic fields, and indoor facilities are used safely and properly maintained.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to injuries or emergency situations according to district health protocols and guidelines.
- Maintain proactive, transparent, and professional communication with student-athletes, parents/guardians, and school leadership regarding schedules, expectations, and updates.
- Manage team rosters, equipment distribution, and game preparations in coordination with the AD.
- Represent RSU #48 with professionalism and high ethical standards during all interactions with officials, opponents, and community members.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Ability to active-demonstrate sport fundamentals, walk/stand for long periods, and lead active drills.
- Work environment includes indoor gymnasiums and outdoor athletic fields subject to seasonal weather conditions.
- Standard schedule includes after-school practices and game times, with travel for away contests.
Terms Of Employment
Seasonal; year-to-year basis. Stipend rate to be determined by the Athletic Director considering experience level and pay rate chart.
