Job summary

Pocahontas County Schools is seeking a Middle School Athletic Director at Green Bank Elementary-Middle School to lead athletic programs and ensure compliance with WVSSAC regulations. The role collaborates with administrators, coaches, families, and community partners to promote student participation and safe, educational experiences.

The position reports to the Principal and an Athletic Director, with a focus on program development, event management, and countywide coordination of middle school

Qualifications

• WV Professional Teaching Certificate is required.
• WV Administrative Certificate preferred but not required.
• Criminal background check must be conducted under WV Code.
• Demonstrated knowledge of WVSSAC regulations and athletic administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight of middle school athletic programs.
• Coordinate athletic schedules, events, and transportation with stakeholders.
• Serve as liaison with WVSSAC, conferences, schools, and community partners.
• Support coaches, student-athletes, and families to promote participation and sportsmanship.
• Ensure compliance with WVSSAC rules, county policies, and safety procedures.
• Assist in budgeting, equipment management, and fundraising for athletic programs.
