Job description

Middle School Assistant Girls Soccer Coach (Northeast Middle)

PURPOSE OF JOB: Provide instruction, leadership, and supervision to middle school students participating in the sports program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist with practices by emphasizing teamwork, skill development, understanding rules and strategies, and student-athlete improvement.
  2. Assist with academic monitoring in collaboration with teachers, counselors, and support staff.
  3. Supervise student-athletes before, during, and after practices and contests, including in locker rooms, on buses, and at all other times. Be punctual for all practices and games and remain until all student-athletes have left.
  4. Ensure proper care and inventory management of equipment.
  5. Complete all required paperwork such as rosters, physicals, insurance forms, and parent consent forms.
  6. Coordinate transportation, facilities, officials, and game management details.
  7. Maintain ethical conduct during practices and contests, exemplifying high standards of sportsmanship.
  8. Assist in program coordination and organization.
  9. Promote student-athletes' academic and athletic achievements.
  10. Engage in professional development through clinics and publications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION: Must possess a Teachers Certificate, valid Substitute Certificate, or Temporary (provisional) Teacher’s Certificate.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Be a full- or part-time employee within the District, employed as a teacher or administrator at the school where applying.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands and fingers, reach, bend, stoop, and lift objects of at least 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.
