Job summary

KIPP Philadelphia Public Schools seeks an experienced Art teacher to nurture creativity and academic growth in urban classrooms across Philadelphia. You will design engaging units, align lessons to curricula, and foster a positive, inclusive culture that centers students and families.

Candidates should have 2+ years of full-time Art teaching in urban settings, a Bachelor's degree, and PA teaching certification or a clear plan to enroll within a year.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of full-time Art teaching experience in an urban setting preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• PA State certification Level I or II preferred; if uncertified, enroll in PA-approved certification within one year.
• Complete PA State Police, PA Child Abuse Clearances and Cogent Fingerprinting before start.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all children feel affirmed, valued and challenged daily.
• Create rigorous, engaging lesson plans leveraging provided curricula/resources.
• Infuse core values into daily lessons and school practices.
• Maintain a productive, organized learning environment.
• Regularly analyze student work and data to adjust lessons and inform instruction.
• Provide accommodations and modifications for growth and success.
• Maintain accurate student grades and communicate with families.
• Model and implement school policies; serve as a role model.
• Collaborate with instructional coaches; participate in professional development.
• Engage in grade team collaboration and share candid feedback.
• Align with KPPS core values: Children First, Cultural Competence, Ownership, Community.
