Qualifications

• At least two years of teaching experience strongly preferred
• New York State teacher certification in the appropriate content area
• Bachelor’s degree required

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an art curriculum aligned with NYC Arts standards.

• Teach painting, drawing, sculpture, and mixed media for middle school students.
• Foster a positive classroom culture emphasizing creativity and collaboration.
• Assess and provide feedback to support student growth.
• Organize art shows and exhibitions to showcase student work.
• Participate in professional development and school initiatives.
• Teach students with high energy and engaging methods.
• Grow professionally as part of a collaborative teaching team.
• Assess progress and communicate results to families and colleagues.
• Provide targeted instruction for students needing extra help.
