KIPP St. Louis currently educates over 2,000 students and at full growth, we will educate nearly 3,600 students and hundreds of alumni. Today, our St. Louis network consists of two middle schools, three elementary schools, and a high school.

Working at our middle school you’re an enthusiastic educator engaging in students’ pursuits outside of the traditional classroom setting. Position Type: Full-time, Exempt, 10 months

Tentative Start Date: July 21, 2025

On a day-to-day basis, you can look forward to the following:

Curriculum Development and Instruction

  1. Adapt and execute a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum
  2. Develop academically rigorous lessons, unit plans, rubrics, and assessments
  3. Use data to inform instructional decisions
  4. Provide students with daily feedback on performance and plan for individual learning needs

Help Build a Positive School and Classroom Culture

  1. Embody and maintain school’s values, policies, and culture
  2. Develop positive relationships with students, families, teachers, and staff
  3. Establish and maintain strong communication with all parents and share progress
  4. Effectively supervise and manage a classroom of up to 30 students
  5. Show up for critical school events, including staff meetings, open houses, parent-teacher conferences, and more

Demonstrate a Growth Mindset

  1. Pursue challenging professional goals each year
  2. Give and receive positive and constructive feedback from your colleagues
  3. Participate in school-wide and individual professional development

School-Based Staff must have the ability to...

  1. Operate a computer and office equipment on a daily basis
  2. Occasional moderate lifting, pushing, and pulling
  3. Maintain emotional control under stress
  4. Interpret policy, procedures, and data
  5. Communicate effectively (verbal and written)

What you bring to the table:

  1. Valid Missouri Teacher Certification or Missouri Substitute Certification or willingness to become certified ASAP (REQUIRED)
  2. Pass Criminal Background Check
  3. Experience working with middle school-aged students (ages 10-14 years old)
  4. Experience teaching Music or Art (preferred)
  5. Demonstrate commitment to closing the opportunity gap
