Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills contribute to a collegial environment.
• Two years of teaching experience strongly preferred.
• New York State teaching certification in the appropriate content area.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Possess an art portfolio highlighting your skills and enthusiasm for art and education.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive art curriculum aligned with standards.
• Create a welcoming classroom environment encouraging exploration and experimentation.
• Teach painting, drawing, sculpture, and mixed media for middle school students.
• Foster a positive culture encouraging creativity, collaboration, and respect for diverse expressions.
• Assess and provide constructive feedback on student progress.
• Organize art shows and exhibitions to showcase student work.
• Participate in professional development and school initiatives.
• Teach in a high‑quality, exciting way and grow as part of a teacher team.
• Communicate progress to families and colleagues.
• Provide individual or small group instruction as needed.
