Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL seeks a Revenue Cycle SME to drive process improvements within the Middle Revenue Cycle. You will collaborate with IT, Automation, and operations teams to identify automation opportunities and design technical specifications.

You will support testing, data validation, and rollout of Middle Revenue Cycle applications, ensuring dashboards and reports are accurate and actionable while maintaining HIPAA compliance and patient privacy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; healthcare revenue cycle experience preferred.
• 4+ years in healthcare revenue cycle or related roles.
• Epic Certification in at least 1 major Epic Module preferred.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA and patient data confidentiality.

Job Description

Identifies opportunities for process improvement in Middle Revenue Cycle and provides actionable recommendations in support of strategic initiatives related to systems and applications. Partners with Automation team and Operations in identifying and evaluating automation opportunities, developing Process Design documentation and implementing automations for operational gains. Participates in ongoing Revenue Cycle and clinical operational and software trainings to keep up to date on functional area workflows and technology capabilities. Relays findings and recommends action plans to Revenue Cycle and System SMEs leadership. Conducts or leads periodic system issue reviews and collaborates with department leadership and IT to implement necessary changes. Collaborates with the Project Management team to provide technical SME support during strategic Revenue Cycle initiatives involving Middle Revenue Cycle. Evaluates project feasibility and translates operational and clinical requirements into technical specifications. Collaborates with teams across Revenue Cycle functional areas and clinical areas to translate operational needs into technical requirements. Recommends optimal usage of systems and technologies to achieve operational goals and drive process efficiencies. Assists with implementation and testing of Middle Revenue Cycle applications to ensure automations, dashboards, and other applications provide accurate and usable data. Communicates with Revenue Cycle functional areas to increase application effectiveness through ongoing testing and feedback. Provides subject matter expert (SME) support for complex technology initiatives related to Revenue Cycle systems. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Deep understanding of operational process and workflows in the Middle Revenue Cycle [Required]
• Deep understanding of Epic applications, Middle Revenue Cycle specific tools, technologies, and vendors leveraged by AdventHealth, their capabilities, data structure, and relation with other applications [Required]
• Advanced knowledge of Middle Revenue Cycle‑specific tools and workflows, including Computer Assisted Coding (CAC) and charge capture and reconciliation related tools and workflows [Required]
• Exceptional problem‑solving [Required]
• Understanding of HIPAA privacy rules and ability to use discretion when discussing patient related information that is confidential in nature (as needed to perform duties) [Required]
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, etc.) [Required]
• Ability to effectively learn and perform multiple tasks, and organize work in a systematic and efficient manner [Required]
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in English, both verbally and in written form [Required]
• Ability to follow complex instructions and procedures, with close attention to detail [Required]
• Knowledge of system testing and quality assurance methodologies [Preferred]
• Technical knowledge of current software solutions including report development [Preferred]

• 1+ working experience in healthcare revenue cycle with a focus in one or more of the following areas: coding, charge integrity, charge reconciliation, charge compliance, charge auditing, cdm compliance, and hospital billing [Required]
• 4+ experience in healthcare revenue cycle with a focus in one or more of the following areas: coding, charge integrity, charge reconciliation, charge compliance, charge auditing, cdm compliance, and hospital billing [Required]
• Experience coordinating Revenue Cycle system updates and/or system implementation [Preferred]
• Experience documenting workflow design and/or creating technical specifications [Preferred]
• Experience managing projects and/or Six Sigma Lean Training [Preferred]
