We’ve been dedicated to assembling a team of Middle Market leaders and underwriters who understand this space deeply and grasp the unique challenges of various industry segments and our customers. We are looking to add an experienced Middle Markets Underwriter at the Mid-Senior or Senior level to our Wisconsin market. In this role, you will serve as a customer advocate, focusing on improving the customer experience by understanding their risks and offering comprehensive solutions for their insurance needs.

What you can expect in an Underwriting Position in Middle Markets at Zurich :

1. Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, partners, and customers across industries to support business objectives.
2. Leverage your underwriting expertise to assess risks, evaluate exposures, and set prices to maintain a profitable portfolio of new and renewal business.
3. Collaborate across business units such as claims, finance, risk engineering, actuary, and technical underwriting to gain industry knowledge.
4. Use your technical skills, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities to grow relationships with distribution partners within your territory.

Basic Qualifications :

Mid-Senior :

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of experience in underwriting or market-facing roles.
• High School Diploma or equivalent and 6+ years in claims or underwriting support.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 1+ years in underwriting or market-facing roles.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 4+ years in claims or underwriting support.
• Knowledge of lines of business and legal/regulatory guidelines.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Experience working under time constraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
