We are looking for an Middle Java Engineer to join us as part of our team.

About the role

This role is crucial to the team’s success, directly contributing to the quality and impact of our product delivery.

About the project

Responsibilities of the team include backend tools/platform that enables feeds creation, updating, and support. It’s about PitchBook data extraction, transformation, and loading into file formats. The project is in active development.

Serving clients in 19 languages, we provide thousands of global business professionals with comprehensive data on the private and public markets to help them discover and execute opportunities with confidence. Worldwide usage includes large corporations, start-ups, venture capital and private equity firms, investment banks, and many others. Features of PitchBook include advanced search, discovery & insights, company profiles, workflow & efficiency, and many more.

Data Feed Product SAT. Team structure: Lead, 1 BE, 1 QA, 1 FE

Work Environment

Flexible schedule with requirements to participate in all team events. Time zone is Europe/Kyiv.

As a qualified expert, you will

• Write well-designed, testable code.
• Collaborate in team and other teams to meet sprint goals.
• Document and maintain software functionality.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
• Comply with project plans and industry/company/team standards.
• Be a domain expert in some parts of the product/services in ownership.

We’re looking for you if you have

• 3+ years of experience in Java development.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
• Experience with Spring or Spring Boot frameworks.
• Familiarity with RESTful API design and development.
• Proficiency in working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s) for container orchestration.
• Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Knowledge of version control systems, such as Git.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Bonus Points

• ElasticSearch or Lucene.
• OpenAPI.
• Should be familiar with and follow SOLID and KISS principles.
