Location: Arkansas Lighthouse Charter Schools (Little Rock, Pine Bluff, Jacksonville Campuses)
Position Type: Full-Time | 193 Day Contract
Schedule : 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

We’re looking for a dynamic, energetic, and student-centered Physical Education (PE) Teacher who is committed to fostering lifelong fitness, teamwork, and personal growth in every scholar. The ideal candidate is excited to create a culture where movement is joyful, wellness is celebrated, and every student has the opportunity to build a strong mind-body connection.
As our Physical Education Teacher, you will:
Design and deliver standards-aligned PE lessons that engage scholars in physical activity, fitness, team sports, and personal health
Build a safe, inclusive, and positive class culture where every scholar feels encouraged to participate and grow
Integrate social-emotional learning and teamwork into PE instruction to support whole-child development
Assess and monitor scholar progress toward physical education goals and adjust instruction to meet diverse needs
Collaborate with classroom teachers and school leadership to promote wellness initiatives across the school
Organize and support school-wide events such as field day, wellness weeks, and after-school athletics
Maintain accurate records of attendance, participation, and skill development
Uphold school policies and model professional and respectful conduct at all times
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field
Preferred: Valid Arkansas teaching license in Physical Education or willingness to pursue licensure through an alternative certification pathway
A love for working with K–8 or K–12 scholars in diverse, urban educational settings
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain high expectations with warmth and consistency
Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills
Commitment to the ARLCS mission, vision, and core values
Preferred:
Prior teaching experience in PE or youth athletics
Familiarity with trauma-informed practices, social-emotional learning, and culturally responsive teaching
CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain)
