Spectrum 360 A NJ Non Profit Corp. seeks a dedicated paraprofessional to support students and educators in our district. You will assist with lesson activities, provide targeted support, and help maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment.

Collaborating with teachers and specialists, you will implement instructional plans, monitor progress, and assist with IEPs and administrative tasks, all while fostering positive relationships with students and families.

Qualifications

• Minimum 30 college credits from an accredited college or university.
• Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build positive relationships.

Summary

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, ensuring they understand the material and remain engaged.
• Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
• Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment.
• Support students with special needs, including those with physical, emotional, or learning challenges.
• Assist with classroom management and discipline, promoting a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
• Prepare instructional materials and resources as directed by the teacher.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and other staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
• Perform clerical tasks, such as grading papers and maintaining student records, as needed.

Requirements

• A minimum of thirty (30) college credits from an accredited college or university.
• Previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting student learning and development.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow directions from teachers and administrators.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in using educational technology.
• Knowledge of child development and educational practices is a plus.
• Must pass background checks and any other required screenings prior to employment.

Full Time Salary:

$29,057.28

Part Time Rate:

$22.56/hour
