Sonoran Science Academy Tucson is seeking a Middle and High School History Teacher to join a STEM-focused charter school in the Sonoran Schools network. You will plan rigorous lessons aligned to Arizona standards, differentiate instruction for diverse learners, and collaborate with colleagues to support student growth and social-emotional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• 3+ years of teaching experience preferred.
• Arizona Department of Education Certification (preferred).
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Collaborative team player with a positive, professional demeanor.
• Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Teach History and Social Studies to middle and high school students using Arizona Academic Standards.
• Create engaging, rigorous, and age-appropriate daily lesson plans.
• Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learners' needs.
• Establish and maintain a structured, respectful, and well-managed classroom environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues across grade levels and content areas.
• Communicate regularly with students, families, and school staff.
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, curriculum planning, and school events.
• Support students' social-emotional development and overall well-being.
