Mid-to-Senior Part-Time Software Engineer - Full Stack Development (20 hours per week i.e. 0.5 FTE)

We are building secure software that empowers community service providers (NGOs, Not-For-Profits) in health, housing, and education sectors. Our platform helps these organisations demonstrate impact to funders, make data-driven decisions, and maintain complete data sovereignty over their client information.

Currently operating as self-hosted deployments using our modern technology stack (Django + Next.js + Azure), we will be evolving towards a compliant SaaS model. This transformation requires implementing comprehensive compliance frameworks to meet the regulatory standards necessary for cloud-based multi-tenant operations while maintaining the highest standards of data privacy and security that our community partners require.

Join us as a Senior Software Engineer in a parti-time (0.5 FTE) role where you will build core features and user experiences for our healthcare SaaS platform. This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge AI development tools while creating software that directly impacts healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.
Start Date: July 14, 2025
Work Arrangement: 100% Remote
Time Commitment: Part-time 20 hours per week (flexible hours based on project needs)
Compensation: 83,400 - 1,00,000 per month (equivalent to 20L - 24L per annum for full-time, based on experience and skills)

Key Responsibilities

Backend Development (40%)

• Design and implement scalable Django applications with Django Ninja APIs
• Build robust data models and business logic for healthcare workflows
• Integrate with Azure services (Azure AD authentication, storage, monitoring)
• Optimise database performance and implement caching strategies
• Ensure healthcare compliance requirements (HIPAA, GDPR) in application design

Frontend Development (35%)

• Develop responsive, accessible user interfaces using Next.js and React
• Implement complex healthcare workflows with intuitive user experiences
• Integrate frontend applications with Django APIs and Azure services
• Optimise application performance and implement proper error handling
• Build reusable component libraries and maintain design system consistency

AI Workflow Leadership (15%)

• Lead the adoption of AI development tools across the engineering team
• Create and document AI-assisted coding standards and best practices
• Train team members on effective prompt engineering and code review of AI-generated content
• Continuously optimise development processes using AI augmentation

Technical Collaboration (10%)

• Participate in architectural decisions and code reviews
• Collaborate with DevOps team on deployment and infrastructure requirements
• Work closely with product team to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing

Technical Requirements

* Must-Have Experience
Overall: 5+ years of professional software development experience
Core Technologies:

• Python/Django development with RESTful API design (Django REST Framework or Django Ninja)
• JavaScript/TypeScript and modern React development (3+ years)
• Next.js application development and deployment (1+ years or strong React background with willingness to learn)
• Database design and optimisation (PostgreSQL preferred)
• Version control with Git and collaborative development workflows
• API integration and third-party service integration
• Security and privacy best practices in application development
• API design and versioning strategies for maintainable systems

* Strong Plus

• Healthcare application development or compliance experience
• Azure cloud services integration (Storage, Azure AD, monitoring)
• Multi-tenant SaaS architecture patterns
• Performance optimisation and scalability considerations
• Automated testing frameworks (pytest, Jest, Playwright)
