A law firm located in New York City, NY, is seeking a Mid-/Senior-level Investment Funds Associate Attorney with over 4 years of experience in Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers Act matters. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience supporting closed-end funds (such as tender offer funds, interval funds, and/or business development companies) and experience with open-end funds and/or ETFs is a plus. The role requires excellent academic credentials, strong writing skills, and effective interpersonal skills.
Duties:
- Provide legal counsel and support on matters related to the Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers Act.
- Advise clients on regulatory compliance and structuring for closed-end funds, including tender offer funds, interval funds, and business development companies.
- Assist with legal and regulatory issues related to open-end funds and ETFs, if applicable.
- Draft and review fund formation documents, regulatory filings, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and provide strategic advice on investment funds and related regulatory matters.
- Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams to address legal issues and ensure compliance.
- Manage complex legal projects and cases, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.
- Stay abreast of developments in investment fund regulations and industry trends.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- At least 4 years of experience in investment funds law, specifically related to the Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers Act.
- Experience supporting closed-end funds (e.g., tender offer funds, interval funds, and/or business development companies) is required.
- Experience with open-end funds and/or ETFs is a plus.
- Excellent academic credentials, writing skills, and interpersonal skills.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Admission to the State Bar (New York preferred).
