Job summary

CORRE, Inc. is seeking a mid-level civil engineer for our Construction group in Wisconsin. The role focuses on leading on-site inspection and documentation for WisDOT and other highway projects, ensuring contractor compliance with standards and contract documents.

You will also support design tasks using Civil 3D and contribute to project and team delivery across multiple assignments, requiring effective communication and organization on client sites and office settings.

Qualifications

Description

Construction Inspection (Primary Focus)

• Lead projects and/or perform on-site inspection and documentation of WisDOT or other client highway and bridge construction projects.
• Verify contractor compliance with WisDOT standards, specifications, and contract documents.
• Track quantities, review pay applications and maintain accurate daily records using WisDOT reporting systems.
• Communicate directly with contractors, WisDOT staff, and project team members to resolve field issues.

Design Support (Secondary Focus)

• Use Autodesk Civil 3D to prepare plan sheets, revisions, and technical exhibits for WisDOT projects.
• Assist with roadway and structure design tasks as needed.
• Perform engineering calculations to support design decisions and verify contractor submittals.

Project & Team Support

• Lead or provide day-to-day support to project managers and engineers across multiple projects.
• Coordinate with WisDOT, local municipalities, and internal team members to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Handle multiple deadlines while producing high-quality work in both design and field environments.
• Communicate effectively with team members, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Provide guidance for staff, promote company growth, and advance current processes.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Minimum of a four-year technical degree in a civil engineering related field or comparable education with relatable experience.
• Familiarity with Wisconsin Department of Transportation and local agency procedures. (preferred)

Technical Knowledge

• Experience using Autodesk Civil 3D (preferred)

Working Conditions

• On construction sites, in field offices, and corporate office environments as needed.
• Occasional travel required for meetings, training, and events.
