Lockwood Hills Federal is seeking a

User Interface/User Experience (UIUX) Designer

to help develop applications and user experience interfaces for cloud-based enterprise training systems for the Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Initiative.

ADL bridges US Government agencies to encourage collaboration, facilitate interoperability, and promote best practices for using distributed learning to provide the highest-quality education, training, informal learning.

Responsibilities

This position will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-based solutions that enhance learning experiences.

The position requires extensive collaboration with cross-functional teams to create and manage scalable, secure, and efficient applications for DoD training partners and educational institutions.

This position requires superb design, management skills, experience with quality control, strong time-management and administration skills, strong detail- oriented organizational abilities, and some facility with coding.

This position is 100% Remote within the US and must be able to work/function on East Coast work schedule.

Qualifications

US Citizen able to obtain and maintain customer access to systems and data (CUI).

A mid-level designer (roughly 2-5 years' experience) ready to take on larger-scale challenges.

2+ years of experience in UX/UI design OR a master's degree in a related field.

Strong proficiency in Figma and UX documentation tools.

Demonstrated experience creating UX artifacts: personas, user flows, mockups, and design systems.

Confident working independently but open to guidance and feedback.

Adept in Figma, including prototyping, component libraries, and file organization.

Comfortable operating in an Agile environment and collaborating with technical and non-technical teams.

Curious, adaptable, and systems-minded-able to design for evolving requirements.

Desired Qualification:

Experience managing or contributing to enterprise-level design systems.

Familiarity with Storybook or similar front-end component tools (e.g., Zeroheight, Backlight, Chromatic).

Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to communicate effectively with developers.

Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1) and accessibility testing.

Experience in federal, defense, or highly regulated environments.
