Overview

• The role involves working with leading companies on sophisticated trademark, copyright, advertising, and online brand protection matters, assisting clients in developing, protecting, and commercializing their brands.
• The firm's Technology & Intellectual Property practice is a multidisciplinary group encompassing business, regulatory law, and litigation related to intellectual property rights including patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets.
• Manages domestic and international trademark portfolios, handling prosecution before the USPTO and coordinating with foreign counsel worldwide.
• Develops and implements trademark protection and enforcement strategies, including online brand protection initiatives, conducting clearance searches, and preparing risk assessments.
• Supports Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) opposition, cancellation, and appeal proceedings.
• Counsels clients on copyright protection, registration, licensing, enforcement, and addresses digital content issues such as fair use, online brand protection, domain name disputes, UDRP proceedings, and DMCA takedowns.
• Drafts and negotiates trademark, copyright, and other intellectual property agreements; conducts intellectual property due diligence for M&A, financing, and strategic transactions.
• Directly collaborates with clients and contributes to business development initiatives.
• Requires 3–6 years of trademark experience from an AmLaw 200 firm or leading IP boutique.
• Candidates must have an interest in business development and a desire to build long-term client relationships.
• The position has a 1,800 billable hour expectation (up to 50 pro bono hours included) and an "all-in" hours expectation of 2,050 or 2,150 depending on seniority, covering billable, pro bono, and investment activities.
