Job summary

Arnold & Porter is seeking a mid-level associate to join our Technology Transactions Practice Group in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, or Seattle office. The Technology Transactions practice handles IT, IP, and technology transactions for prominent technology, healthcare, life sciences, consumer products, financial services, and entertainment clients.

Responsibilities include drafting, negotiating, and analyzing IT/IP and commercial agreements, including R&D, SaaS, procurement, and consulting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience handling transactional matters with a focus on intellectual property and technology transactions.
• Strong research, writing, and analytic skills.
• Ability to work independently and creatively and to collaborate effectively in a team.
• Applicants with AI or life sciences sector experience and some privacy/data security experience are preferred.
• An undergraduate or advanced degree or relevant work experience in IT, computer science, electrical engineering, life sciences, or other technology-related fields is strongly preferred.

The Technology Transactions practice handles a wide variety of IT, IP, and technology transactions for prominent technology, healthcare, life sciences, consumer products, financial services, and entertainment companies and non-profit organizations. Responsibilities include drafting, negotiating, and analyzing a variety of IT, IP, and commercial agreements, including R&D, SaaS, procurement, and consulting agreements.

Qualified applicants for this position must have a minimum of one year of experience handling transactional matters with a focus on intellectual property and technology transactions; strong research, writing, and analytic skills; an ability to work independently and creatively; and an ability to work successfully as part of a team.

Applicants with AI or life sciences sector experience and some privacy and data security experience are preferred. An undergraduate or advanced degree or relevant work experience in IT, computer science, electrical engineering, life sciences, or other technology-related fields is strongly preferred.

Candidates must currently be licensed to practice law, or be eligible to become licensed to practice, in the jurisdiction in which they apply.

The salary range for this position in California and Washington state is $235,000 - $365,000.

Eligibility for an hours-based bonus is available.
