Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Technical Editor (Mid-Level) to support the Defense Intelligence Agency’s Defense Intelligence Enterprise. The editor will act as the last line of quality for intelligence products, sharpening logic and clarity while enforcing agency style and classification standards.

This role is contingent on contract award, security clearance verification, and funding availability. The editor will work with analysts to ensure narrative strength and factual accuracy, reviewing drafts for

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• 8+ years of editing experience, with recent work within the last 2 years.
• Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, or a related field.
• Knowledge of IC and DoD classification marking guidance.
• Ability to negotiate revisions with authors.

Responsibilities

• Review intelligence products for grammar, punctuation, and syntax, and for logic, clarity, and consistency.
• Ensure style and format conform to agency publication standards and specialized vocabulary.
• Amend draft tables, tone boxes, and graphics to align visuals with text.
• Ensure proper classification markings per IC guidance on every product.
• Work directly with authors to revise products for narrative organization and revisions.
