BRMi seeks a Technical Analyst to support a large financial services client’s Digital team, developing and enhancing web, mobile, chat, and voice solutions. The role targets 2–7 years of IT experience, with collaboration across product owners, solution architects, developers, and QA teams to translate needs into detailed technical requirements.

Responsibilities include reviewing documentation, testing, API investigations, data mappings, and documenting requirements across layers.

Overview

BRMi is seeking a Technical Analyst to support a large financial services client’s Digital team in developing and enhancing industry‑leading web, mobile, chat, and voice solutions that meet customers’ evolving financial needs. This entry‑to‑mid‑level position is targeted toward professionals with 2–7 years of relevant information technology experience. The Technical Analyst will collaborate with product owners, business analysts, solution architects, developers, and quality assurance teams to assess business needs and translate them into detailed technical system requirements. The successful candidate will have experience capturing technical requirements, working with APIs, and analyzing applications across multiple architectural layers. This role requires strong analytical and problem‑solving skills and the ability to investigate existing systems, interfaces, data flows, and application behavior to support new capabilities and enhancements.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product ownership, business analysts, solution architects, developers, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into detailed technical system requirements.
• Review available system documentation and exercise test versions of applications, services, and APIs to understand existing functionality and identify enhancement opportunities.
• Investigate enterprise and third‑party/vendor APIs to determine whether required data and functionality are available to support intended system capabilities.
• Analyze API requests, responses, data structures, system behaviors, and integration dependencies.
• Develop data mappings between interfacing applications, services, APIs, and data sources.
• Create and maintain system requirements documentation for applications and services, including interface and integration specifications.
• Define and document requirements across application, service/API, and data layers.
• Assist lead analysts and product teams in developing and prioritizing features and epics to ensure work is aligned with product delivery strategy and business value.
• Perform application, service, and API testing and validation to confirm expected system behavior.
• Write and execute SQL queries to support data analysis, validation, troubleshooting, and requirements development.
• Use system documentation, database information, application logs, API responses, and scenario testing to troubleshoot issues and assist with root‑cause analysis.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, Quality Assurance teams, and developers throughout the software development lifecycle to clarify requirements and address project and production issues.
• Provide demonstrations of system functionality and capabilities to internal project teams and business stakeholders.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including project planning, sprint and release planning, daily stand‑ups, demonstrations/reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
• Conduct technical analysis across multiple applications, services, products, and integrations.
• Identify requirement gaps, dependencies, error scenarios, and potential technical issues and communicate findings to appropriate team members.
• Support analysis of alternative workflows, exception conditions, and non‑happy‑path scenarios.
• Manage multiple priorities and deliverables within a fast‑paced environment with aggressive timelines.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• 2–7 years of relevant information technology experience.

• Experience writing system or application requirements.
• Understanding of application testing, service validation, troubleshooting, and root‑cause analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with product owners, business analysts, architects, developers, QA teams, and other stakeholders.
