Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer - Splunk Administrator in Annapolis Junction, MD, to secure and optimize enterprise Splunk infrastructure. The role blends hands-on Splunk engineering with cyber defense, continuous monitoring, incident response, and risk assessment across multiple environments.

The ideal candidate has strong Splunk experience, TS/SCI clearance with poly, and a track record of contributing to secure, scalable missions in collaboration with government and contractor

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in system engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
• Fourteen (14) years' experience as an SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required.
• Demonstrated experience with Splunk and planning and leading Systems Active TS/SCI security clearance with current polygraph required.

Responsibilities

The Mid-Level Systems Engineer - Splunk Administrator supports a critical cyber mission by administering, modernizing, and securing enterprise Splunk infrastructure and cybersecurity toolsets. The role combines hands-on Splunk engineering with cyber defense, continuous monitoring, incident response, vulnerability and risk assessment, security architecture, and systems integration across computing, network, and enclave environments. The engineer works closely with government and contractor teams to ensure systems are secure, compliant, reliable, and scalable while developing and implementing solutions that strengthen enterprise security monitoring and mission effectiveness.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in system engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.

Target Salary Range

$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
