EVTKS is seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to join our team supporting the FAA Radar System Replacement program. You will work with installation teams, field technicians, and FAA personnel to progress from design to testing and operational support.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support lifecycle activities: site surveys, design, installation, commissioning, and support.
• Assist SAT and CAI inspections; develop implementation plans and reports.

• Assist in radar optimization, calibration, and performance tuning.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and integration issues.
• Document activities, test results, and technical findings; coordinate with teams.

EVTKS is looking for a talented Mid-Level Systems Engineer to join our team supporting the Federal Aviation Administration Radar System Replacement (RSR) program.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced systems engineer who enjoys working with complex technology, solving challenging engineering problems, and seeing projects progress from design and installation through testing, commissioning, and operational support.

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced engineering professionals and collaborate directly with installation teams, field technicians, engineers, and FAA personnel. This position offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience supporting mission-critical aviation systems while contributing to the modernization and reliability of the National Airspace System.

What You’ll Do

As a Mid-Level Systems Engineer, you will support engineering activities throughout the system lifecycle, including site surveys, engineering design, installation, integration, commissioning, acceptance testing, optimization, and ongoing second-level engineering support.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conduct site surveys and collect engineering data required for system design and implementation
• Participate in Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and Contractor Acceptance Inspections (CAI)
• Support the preparation of Site Survey Reports and Site-Specific Implementation Plans
• Develop engineering drawings, diagrams, installation documentation, and technical reports
• Support radar optimization, calibration, and performance tuning
• Perform system configuration, functional testing, verification, and integration activities
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and system integration issues
• Support software updates, engineering changes, and system upgrades
• Conduct second-level engineering investigations and root-cause analysis of complex technical issues
• Support radar equipment installation and systems integration activities
• Analyze system performance data and recommend engineering improvements
• Document engineering activities, maintenance actions, test results, and technical findings
• Coordinate engineering activities with installation teams, field technicians, engineers, and FAA personnel
• Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable FAA standards, OEM guidance, and program requirements

What We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of systems engineering experience supporting complex technical systems
• Experience with systems integration, testing, engineering documentation, or technical implementation projects
• Experience with hardware/software integration and troubleshooting
• Working knowledge of engineering drawings, technical documentation, and configuration management
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications

• FAA or DoD systems engineering experience
• Experience with air traffic management, radar, communications, or surveillance systems
• Experience supporting field installations and operational acceptance testing
• Understanding of systems engineering lifecycle processes
• Experience with engineering change management and technical documentation
