Job summary

Viasat is seeking a Mid-Level Systems Design Engineer for onsite roles in Tempe, AZ or Carlsbad, CA. You will translate mission needs into technical requirements and contribute to algorithm development for signal processing and system optimization, collaborating with firmware, software and integration teams.

The position involves implementing and testing algorithms, participating in system bring-up, and driving build consistency with analysis teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 3–5 years of system building, modeling, or algorithm development, or 5–7 years with Bachelor’s.
• Proficiency in C++, C, MATLAB, or Python for simulations.
• Knowledge of RF systems and waveform concepts.
• Active US Secret clearance (Top Secret preferred) and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Translate mission needs into technical requirements and engineering solutions.
• Implement and test algorithms in firmware or software under mentorship.
• Participate in integration and system bring-up activities.
