Job summary

INNOVIM Defense Services is seeking a Mid-Level System Test Engineer to guide verification, validation, and mission readiness across satellite ground systems. You will lead test activities for multiple vendors and government stakeholders in a secure DoD environment at Schriever Space Force Base, CO, with a day shift and DoW Secret clearance.

Responsibilities include developing test strategies, validating builds, and automating tests for a modern DevSecOps pipeline, while coordinating DT/OT

Qualifications

• 6+ years of general full-time work experience.
• 3+ years in complex enterprise IT system testing and integration.
• Experience with enterprise IT infrastructure (servers, networks, storage, virtualization).
• Proficient in authoring test plans/cases and leading complex campaigns.
• Experience designing/executing test automation solutions.
• Ability to coordinate across vendors, engineering teams, Agile groups, and government stakeholders.
• Familiar with Agile practices and secure development workflows.
• Active DoW Secret Security Clearance.

• Validate software builds and configurations for satellite ground system components.
• Test IT infrastructure including servers, networks, storage, and virtualized environments.
• Design and maintain automated test scripts for CI/CD pipelines in DevSecOps.
• Support IaC with automated builds, deployments, and integration workflows.
• Produce test reports, risk summaries, and briefings for leadership and stakeholders.
• Ensure configuration management, cybersecurity compliance, and documentation quality.
• Provide technical test leadership during integration events and certifications.

Join our Space Systems Test & Integration team supporting the Missile Defense Space Enterprise Architecture (MDSEA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. As a Mid-Level System Test Engineer, you will provide technical guidance for verification, validation, integration, and mission readiness activities across complex satellite ground system environments.
This position requires hands-on experience with space-ground enterprise systems, mission system integration, IT infrastructure, test automation, and DevSecOps-aligned development pipelines. You will guide multidisciplinary engineering teams, support DT/OT test events, and ensure mission-critical systems meet stringent operational requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and execute system level test strategies, plans, procedures, and verification artifacts.
• Provide technical guidance that will be used by MDSEA System Engineers to ensure test standardization and performance targets are met
• Coordinate test activities across multiple vendors, engineering teams, Agile groups, and government stakeholders.
• Manage the Integrated Master Test Schedule (IMTS) for DT/OT events, integration milestones, and readiness reviews.
• Conduct functional, integration, regression, performance, cybersecurity, and end to end mission system testing.
• Validate software builds, configuration changes, and modifications to enterprise satellite ground system components.
• Test IT infrastructure which includes servers, networks, storage systems, virtualized environments, and mission critical enterprise services.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for seamless integration into a modern DevSecOps CI/CD pipeline to increase test coverage and efficiency.
• Apply familiarity with DevSecOps/DevOps pipelines to support Infrastructure as Code through automated builds, deployments, and integration workflows.
• Identify, document, and track system anomalies, lead defect triage and root cause analyses for complex system issues, and coordinate resolution across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Produce test reports, readiness assessments, risk summaries, and technical briefings for leadership and government stakeholders.
• Support strict configuration management, cybersecurity compliance, and test documentation quality.
• Provide technical test leadership during integration events, readiness reviews, operational demonstrations, and certification milestones

Basic Requirements:

• Must have 6, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience
  May be reduced with completion of advanced education
• Must have 3, or more, years of directly related experience in complex enterprise IT system testing and integration, underpinned by a solid foundation in systems engineering principles.
• Must have experience with enterprise IT infrastructure (servers, networks, storage, virtualization, system services).
• Must have a demonstrated high proficiency in authoring comprehensive test plans and test cases, and leading the execution of complex test campaigns.
• Must have experience designing or executing test automation solutions.
• Must have experience coordinating across multiple vendors, engineering teams, Agile environments, and government stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of requirements analysis, verification methodologies, and the Systems Engineering V model.
• Must have experience decomposing complex systems into testable components.
• Must be familiar with Agile practices and secure development workflows.
• Must have an active DoW Secret Security Clearance

Desired Requirements:

• Have experience with space mission systems or enterprise satellite ground architectures.
• Have 1, or more, relevant DoW 8570 IAT Level II certifications such as Security+
• Be able to operate independently within classified DoD environments.
• Be able to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance
• Be familiar with DevSecOps/DevOps pipelines, CI/CD workflows, automated software deployments, and secure, air-gapped environments.
• Have a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related technical field

This position is expected to pay $120,000 - $150,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
