Job summary

HarveStaff LLC in the St. Louis area seeks a Mid Level Software Engineer - Automation Systems for an on-site six-month contract.

You will design, develop, and maintain software for automated laboratory and industrial systems, integrating instrumentation, sensors, cameras, robotics, and enterprise data platforms. The role requires 5+ years in automation software, strong OO programming (C#, MATLAB, Python, C++, etc.), and collaboration with scientists and engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing software for automation, industrial, scientific, or engineering systems.
• Strong programming skills in C#, MATLAB, Python, C++, or similar languages.
• Experience integrating software with hardware systems, sensors, machine vision, robotics, or industrial control platforms.
• Knowledge of industrial automation architectures, control systems, and communication protocols.
• Experience with source control and software testing.
• Must be able to pass drug screenings and criminal background checks.
• On-site full-time work at research facilities in St. Louis, Missouri.

Pay Rate/Salary

• Estimated Salary: $52.71 to $67.86 per hour. Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors.
