Job summary

Leidos is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer to build backend services, intelligent agents, and automation workflows that power mission-critical platforms. Qualifications

• BS degree with 4+ years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go for backend services and APIs/microservices.
• Experience with AI/ML systems and intelligent automation.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code concepts and tooling.
• Experience in GitLab and/or GitHub with collaborative workflows.
• Ability to operate in evolving or ambiguous requirements and maintain a security posture.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and microservices that support AI-enabled platforms.
• Build autonomous or semi-autonomous agents that integrate with technical and business systems.
• Develop AI-enabled workflows for decision support, automation, analysis, and system interaction.
• Implement APIs and orchestration logic to enable agent collaboration.
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code to provision and manage cloud environments.
• Collaborate with systems engineers and ISSEs to translate requirements into code.
• Contribute to Git-based development workflows, including pull/merge requests and reviews.
• Support CI/CD and secure deployments aligned with security requirements (ATO).
• Produce technical documentation covering code, agent behavior, and system interactions.
• Adopt an everything-as-code approach for infrastructure, automation, and workflows.
