Job summary

Charlotte Rescue Mission is seeking a Mid-Level Philanthropy Officer to cultivate monthly and mid-level donors, building strong relationships in a Christ-centered nonprofit environment. The role requires detail orientation, excellent listening, and teamwork, with occasional evening/weekend functions to accommodate donor schedules.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with 1 year fundraising/nonprofit experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in fundraising, development, or nonprofit management.

Responsibilities

• Manage two donor portfolios (monthly and mid-level); design cultivation and stewardship strategies.
• Reengage and steward portfolios to lift giving, volunteering, and advocacy.
• Create monthly reports reflecting activity and performance.
• Identify new prospective donors with Donor Relations staff; research and rate them.
• Maintain precise donor contact records in the Virtuous database.
• Design and implement written strategies for top prospects; move donors as needed.
• Assist with fundraising priorities with the Manager of Development Operations and the Chief Development Officer.
• Coordinate/assist with major fundraising events and Third Party events.
• Provide staffing support for CRM fundraising, stewardship, and public awareness events.
• Assist donor relations team in processing mail during heavy volume.
• Attend all gift officers’ meetings, development team meetings, and staff meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Join Our Mission

Charlotte Rescue Mission, a Christ-centered residential drug and alcohol recovery program, is seeking a dedicated Mid-Level Philanthropy Officer to join our team.

The Mid-Level Philanthropy Officer will have primary responsibility for identifying, cultivating, and stewarding monthly donors and mid-level donors. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, superb listening skills, customer service, and the ability to be a team player.There is a possibility of some evening and weekend work to attend functions and accommodate donor availability in scheduling appointments or calls.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage two separate portfolios of donors -monthly donorsandmid-level donors.Designing and implementing strategies for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of these donors.
• Focus on the goal of reengaging, cultivating, and stewarding these portfolios of donors which will result in lifting their giving goals, volunteering, and/or advocating.
• Create monthly reports that reflect portfolio activity and performance.
• Identify new prospective donors by working closely with the Donor Relations staff to identify patterns of giving.Research and rate new prospective donors.
• Maintain a precise record of donor contacts through the Virtuous database.
• Design and implement written strategies for top prospects and track progress throughout the year. Be willing to move donors to the Senior Philanthropy Officers portfolio as needed.
• Assist with the establishment of fundraising priorities for the organization in conjunction with the Manager of Development Operations and the Chief Development Officer.
• Coordinate and/or assist with major fundraising events as well as Third Party events as needed.
• Provide staffing support for CRM fundraising, stewardship, and public awareness events.
• Assist the donor relations team in processing mail during extremely heavy volume time periods.
• Attend all gift officers’ meetings, development team meetings, and staff meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge:

• Associate degree with a minimum of one-year related experience in fundraising or non-profit work.Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in fundraising, development, and/or non-profit management is required.
