Job summary

BCG Attorney Search seeks a Patent Associate in Austin, TX, within its Intellectual Property Practice Group. The role focuses on drafting and prosecuting patent applications across software, AI/ML, FinTech, and telecom, with direct client interaction and portfolio counseling.

Candidates should have 3+ years of experience, USPTO admission, and strong writing skills. Degree in engineering or CS preferred; ME degrees may be considered. This is a full-time Austin position.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
• Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
• Strong writing and analytical skills.
• Comfortable working directly with clients.

Responsibilities

• Draft patent applications in computer arts, including software, AI/ML, FinTech, and telecommunications.
• Prosecute patent applications effectively.
• Provide counseling on patent portfolios.
• Support the IP Practice in strategic development and procurement of patent portfolios.
