Kforce Inc. is seeking a Mid-Level to Senior RF Hardware Design Engineer in Orem, UT. The role focuses on solving RF/microwave challenges and driving the development of advanced RF hardware systems in a fast-paced, engineering-driven environment.

The engineer will design hardware across RF/microwave and analog domains, evaluate tradeoffs with signal processing, and translate system needs into hardware specifications. Equity and base salary are offered as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Experience in RF/microwave design including up/downconversion, LNAs/PAs, mixers, transceivers, filters and calibration.
• Schematic capture and PCB layout experience, preferably with Altium.
• Hands-on RF circuit testing, tuning, and component evaluation.
• Proficiency with simulation and analysis tools such as LTSpice, HFSS, ADS; able to analyze data with Python or MATLAB.

Responsibilities

Kforce is partnered directly with the hiring manager of this growing engineering technology company in Orem, UT on an exclusive search for a Mid-Level or Senior RF Hardware Design Engineer. This is a high-impact role for an engineer passionate about solving complex RF/microwave challenges and driving development of advanced RF based hardware systems in a fast-paced, engineering-centric environment. This role offers competitive compensation including base salary and equity.

• Design and development of hardware systems across RF/microwave, low-noise analog, power systems, FPGA hardware, and embedded GPU platforms
• Evaluate tradeoffs between RF hardware and signal processing (detection, tracking, calibration, interference mitigation) to optimize system performance
• Translate system-level requirements into hardware and software specifications
• Assess feasibility across technical, cost, and schedule constraints
• Partner cross-functionally with systems, electrical, mechanical, and software teams from concept through production
• Troubleshoot complex hardware issues and drive design improvements
• Collaborate with product teams to ensure performance aligns with real-world application needs

Requirements

RF/Microwave Design

• Upconversion/downconversion circuits
• Mixers and signal chain design
• Amplifiers (LNAs, PAs), Transceivers, filtering, phased arrays, calibration
• Waveform generation (DDS, PLLs), oscillators (OCXO or similar)
• Experience with PLLs (integer vs fractional-N, loop bandwidth)
• Experience with signal-chain including transceiver signal chain design would be ideal
• Experience with PLLs, waveform generation, up/down conversion

Hardware & Circuit Design

• Schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium preferred)
• Hands-on RF circuit testing, tuning, and component evaluation

Simulation & Analysis

• LTSpice (required)
• HFSS, ADS or similar
• Python, MATLAB, or equivalent tools for data analysis

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
