Watts Architecture and Engineering in New York City is seeking a Mid-Level Asbestos Inspector/Investigator to support building renovation and demolition projects across the downstate area.

The role requires NYC DEP Title 15 and NYS ICR 56 knowledge, two years in hazmat inspection, and relevant certifications; compensation is $80,000–$100,000 with a flexible yet client-focused schedule.

Qualifications

• NYC DEP asbestos investigator certification required.
• NYS DOL asbestos inspector certification required.
• 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience in building hazmat inspection.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections for asbestos-containing materials and prepare reports based on findings.
• Interpret NYC DEP Title 15, NYS ICR 56 and other applicable regulations.
• Be dependable, able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Coordinate with NYC agencies (Port Authority, NYC HHC, DCAS, CUNY, MTA, etc.).
• Demonstrate initiative and strong communication skills.
