Job summary

Kiernan Trebach LLP in Washington, DC seeks a mid-level attorney with 7+ years of civil litigation defense experience to join our DC office. You will handle civil matters from inception to resolution, draft pleadings and motions, conduct research, and brief clients and courts.

Ideal candidates hold a JD, are admitted to the DC Bar (and/or Virginia or Maryland Bar), and can work independently from start to finish.

Qualifications

• Experience defending insurance defense matters.
• Experience drafting motions, memoranda, depositions summaries, and trial prep.
• Ability to work independently from inception to settlement/trial.

Responsibilities

• Handle a variety of civil litigation cases from inception to resolution.
• Conduct legal research, analyze data, and develop strategies for cases.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Attend hearings, depositions, and trials as necessary.
• Defend civil litigation matters including General Liability, Personal Injury, Product Liability, Professional Liability.

We are seeking a new Mid-Level Attorney in Civil Litigation Defense (DOUBLE BARRED) with 7+ years of experience to join our team. Your role will be to defend a variety of Civil matters in our growing Washington, DC office.

What You Will Do:

As an Attorney at our firm, you will:

• Handle a variety of civil litigation cases from inception to resolution.
• Conduct legal research, analyze data, and develop strategies for cases.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Attend hearings, depositions, and trials as necessary.
• Defend a Variety of Civil Litigation Defense matters including:
  • General Liability
  • Personal Injury
  • Product Liability
  • Professional Liability

What You Will Bring:

Our ideal candidate will have 7+ years of relevant experience and the following credentials/skills:

• Experience with Insurance Defense clients.
• Experience writing motions and other legal memoranda, summarizing depositions, and trial preparation.
• The ability to work independently from suit inception to settlement/trial.

Required Education & Licensure:

• Juris Doctorate Degree (J.D.)
• Active District of Columbia Bar License (Required).
• Active Virginia Bar, and/or Maryland Bar (Required).

Salary Range:

$130,000 – $200,000
