Job Overview:
A dynamic and expanding business law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Litigation Associate Attorney to join its high-performing litigation team. This role is ideal for a Florida-licensed litigator with 5–7 years of experience in civil or commercial litigation. The successful candidate will manage complex, high-stakes business disputes across various industries, emphasizing strategic advocacy, client service, and meaningful outcomes for businesses and entrepreneurs. This is a remote-flexible position reporting to a Litigation Team Leader.
Location: Miami, Florida
Duties:
- Handle complex litigation cases including partnership and contractual disputes, non-compete enforcement, employment claims, and franchise conflicts.
- Manage case strategy, pleadings, motions, discovery, and trial preparation.
- Conduct and defend depositions, evidentiary hearings, and motion practice.
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status, strategy, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with litigation team members to achieve results.
- Utilize legal support staff for administrative and paralegal functions.
- Meet billable hour expectations aligned with compensation.
- Participate in firm-sponsored networking and business development activities.
Requirements:
- 5–7 years of experience in civil or commercial litigation (Florida practice required).
- Strong litigation background including depositions, hearings, and motions.
- Ability to independently manage case assignments and workflow.
- Exceptional written and oral advocacy skills.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and courtroom procedures.
- No malpractice or disciplinary history (background check required).
Education:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Active license to practice law in Florida (required).
Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and legal case management tools.
- Experience with Apple products (MacBook/iMac preferred).
- Strong communication and client management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple matters and meet deadlines.
- Strategic thinking with attention to detail and initiative.
- Origination, leadership, or trial experience preferred.
Preferred (Not Required):
- Bench or jury trial experience (first-chair or second-chair).
- Experience with business litigation such as partnership disputes, derivative claims, and leases.
- Top 10% law school graduate or Law Review member.
