Speks, a Brooklyn-based design company, seeks an Industrial Designer for our midtown Manhattan office. You will collaborate with the Lead Industrial Designer to design, develop and refine products across our brand, overseeing prototyping and library management.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in industrial design, strong 3D skills (SolidWorks, Rhino), and proficiency in Illustrator/Photoshop and the Adobe suite. This full-time role includes benefits and snacks in a new office near Grand Central.

Qualifications

3+ years of professional experience as an industrial designer.
Proficient with rapid ideation, hand sketching, rough prototyping, and quick visualizations using Illustrator and/or Photoshop.
Exceptional 3D modeling and surfacing in SolidWorks; Rhino and other CAD tools a plus.
Attention to detail in form, function, proportion, texture, and tactile feel.
Comfort with exploring new concepts and sharing ideas openly.
Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

Develop creative product concepts and designs under the Speks brand.
Collaborate with the lead industrial designer to develop and iterate products.
Design within the Speks brand language and expand across new categories.
Lead in-office prototyping, create and review prototypes, and refine as needed.
Create and manage a material and sample library.
Work with the Senior Product Development Manager to turn prototypes into manufacturable products.
